The Centre for Regulation and Enforcement (CRE) within NSW Health are seeking a motivated leader to join their mission in regulating tobacco and e-cigarette retailing across the state. This role is vital to NSW's Government commitment to smoke-free environments and the enforcement of the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2008 and the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966.
Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of 4 - 6 officers to optimise regulatory outcomes and manage day-to-day work performance
Plan, coordinate, and oversee covert (undercover buys) and overt (seizures and inspections) compliance activities
Prepare high-quality prosecution briefs, maintain the chain of evidence, and attend court to present cases.
Build constructive relationships with co-regulators (including Police), legal providers, and industry stakeholders.
This role is highly mobile and requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

A background in investigations, compliance, or government (e.g., Fair Trading, Council, or Police).
Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent) highly regarded
Exceptional communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to manage difficult situations involving emotional or uncooperative members of the public
Previous experience leading a team
